812 relatives at #RootsTech2021. Hi, cousins!
Eating oatmeal for breakfast and making shortbread. Happy Robbie Burns Day! #RobbieBurns #RobbieBurnsDay
G is for Grandma, in this case my paternal grandmother Albina Krupcała Jashewski. I never saw this photo until recently. Albina was a seamstress in Fort William, and died when I was a baby. I remember playing with her old Singer push-pedal sewing machine when young. She and my grandfather married in Canada, but knew each other in Strusów and Warwaryńce. Her lace collar is lovely!
F is for Family! This photo is courtesy my cousin Renee who I assume is the little girl. Her parents are George Blois and my 1st cousin 1x removed on my father's side Betty Sullivan. The little boy must be her brother George Jr. What a lovely family memory from Coney Island! (I have Renee's sisters as being Lois and Michele). We share the same ancestors Ignacy Krupcala and Apolonia Paczkowska.
E is for Eric, my brother, who was with my sister and I on the trip to Poland and Ukraine in 2010 (visiting our cousins and our roots). This monument was brought to our attention by Ela, and I can translate that it has something to do with miners...but I wish I knew more about the house and the history surrounding it. #genealogy #GenealogyPhotoADay #solidarnosc #Ukraine #Miners #Jaszewski
Day 4 is "D is for Dog Lake" and also our dog Sandy, our golden retriever, who was a Good Boy. I was pretty young when we got him, but I remember the first day. Dog Lake is where we had our camp ("cottage" to southern Ontario people). I would spend all my summers up there. Here are my siblings Jim, Barb, Blake, Eric and my mom Irene, with Sandy and me (Karen) in front. My Dad took the photo. He was a great photographer! #GenealogyPhotoADay #Genealogy #Genealogie #ThunderBay #Ontario #Camp #DogLakeOntario #Jaszewski
